Around the Bay 30k: Week 8, Day 5
The Run: Long 24 with Valley Inn rd. reps.
A route going out 8km, back 4, out 4, and back 8 meant I got to (had to) run in and out of the Valley 4 times. And as the snow accumulated over the 2 hours I was out there it got progressively harder to keep my footing.
The snow really slows you down and engages you achilles, quads, and upper hammys. This was a long, challenging run for me, but I’m well sorer than I would have been doing this on pavement or trails. You’ve got to fight for every step in the snow.
12km tomorrow and that’s 8 weeks in the books. Halfway there.
